I am starting a another series of my male nudes. It will be the "Wet" series, and i hope to have 10 or so in the coming months. With these I will be using palette knives and putty knives to help expand on the looser energy I am looking for.. hope you will stay tuned and see what develops...
I always try to have my camera ready when I am and out about...I shot my reference photo for this painting while having lunch at The Legal Seafood Test Kitchen in Boston. I was attracted to the backlighting, the gesture of the waiter and the great reflections in the bar.. It was another opportunity to play with the movement in the light..

Seems I do a lot of self portraits... at least the model is always available and affordable. I am working on loosening up my style and continuing my search for movement in my paint. As I Am received Judges Recognition in a recent show....
This small series has been a great way to clear my head, be playful and work on technique. There is a lot of paint on these applied in quick and generous strokes. This may conclude the Doughnut series, but there may be a few more sweet treats up my sleeve...
