These large old trees seemed to be growing out as opposed to up, hovering close to the ground with their protective canopies and keeping each other in check. The early afternoon sun lit up the trees inner foliage in this 9x16, oil/linen panel.
Nice one, very evocative and moody! I really like the lit up foliage; have been a fan of your doing that since the palms fronds that went out with a bang.
Thanks, Camille... I was at this spot yesterday (not to paint), same time of day, sunny as before, and it looked totally different! Funny, the changes a few days can make....
